What a fantastic evening we had at our community litter pick around Greenmeadow Shops and the Trent Road play area – even if the heat made it a little more challenging than usual.
It was great to meet Jackie, Dave and Deborah, who joined us after seeing the event advertised and have now signed up to our volunteer mailing list. A warm welcome to all three.
Councillors L Jackson, J Jackson, Edwards, Hailstone, Bradley and Nukana were also out in force, equipped with litter-picking gear and plenty of smiles. As well as helping tidy the area, they took the opportunity to speak with local residents and listen to their concerns.
Community litter picks are a wonderful way to meet new people, get some fresh air and exercise, and help keep Haydon Wick looking its best. We look forward to seeing even more residents at future events.
A special thank you to the teams at Fish and Chips on Thames Avenue and Greenmeadow Stores for providing some much-appreciated refreshments at the end of the evening.
Together, we’re making a real difference to our local environment. Keep an eye out for details of our next community litter pick!
