Consultation Hub
We believe that involving residents in decisions which affect their lives is a means to develop and empower a strong community and whilst we can’t force people to engage, but will do our best to make it easy and attractive for people to do so. When we want people’s views on a project, we will consult the community. Our ‘open’ (whole community) consultations will always run for at least six weeks and we will avoid running them over school summer holidays, Easter and Christmas.
Any consultations we run will be hosted here and we will always post a consultation report after each consultation.
Haydon Wick Parish Council Mascot Consultation
We’re exploring the idea of introducing a community mascot, which has been donated to the Parish Council, to help raise awareness of our local wildlife in a fun and accessible way at community events.
Our mascot would be inspired by one of the area’s most recognisable residents – a frog born and raised in the ponds and wetlands of Mouldon Hill Country Park!

Community Choices 2026/27: Helping Shape the Future of Haydon Wick
Haydon Wick Parish Council has allocated a budget of £7,500 to deliver projects put forward by and voted on by residents of Haydon Wick.
At Haydon Wick Parish Council, we believe that the best ideas for our community come from the people who live, work and spend their time here. That’s why we’re launching our Community Choices 2026/27 consultation, giving residents the opportunity to help shape future projects and priorities across the Parish.
Community Choices is designed to ensure that local investment reflects the aspirations and needs of our residents. Rather than deciding priorities on behalf of the community, we want to hear directly from you about the issues, opportunities and improvements that matter most.
Stage One – Identifying What Matters Most
The first stage of the consultation invites residents to review a range of themes that could help shape future Council projects and initiatives. Following engagement with residents and community stakeholders, six key themes will be identified as the areas of greatest importance to our community.
Residents will be able to access the consultation through the Council’s website, social media channels and QR code posters located throughout the Parish, ensuring everyone can participate and share their views.
Stage Two – Developing Community-Led Ideas
Once the six priority themes have been identified, the Council will review all feedback received and begin developing potential projects, initiatives and investment opportunities that could help deliver positive outcomes within each theme.
This stage is about turning community feedback into practical proposals. Officers and Councillors will work together to explore options, assess feasibility and develop ideas that respond directly to what residents have told us.
The result will be a range of potential projects linked to each of the six community-selected themes.
Stage Three – Choosing the Priorities
The final stage places decision-making back into the hands of the community.
Residents will be invited to review the proposed projects and tell us which ideas they would most like to see delivered. This will help the Council understand where community support is strongest and ensure future investment is focused on the projects that matter most to local people.
