Working Parties

Working Parties are formed to assist the Full Council and its Standing Committees to oversee either a ‘task and finish’ project or to champion an initiative with a smaller membership of specialised or interested members. Membership can include non-councillors and they may be formed or disbanded at any time dependent upon the lifespan of any given project. Any project updates will feature on the agenda of the reporting Committee or Full Council listed below.

  • Internal Audit: meets quarterly and provides assurance that the Council’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. Reports to Finance & Policy Committee.
  • Budget Setting: meets from November onwards, and scrutinises the Council’s budget setting and precept setting. Reports to Finance & Policy Committee.
  • Emergency Plan: meets at least once per year to review the Council’s coordination of local responses plan in the event of a localised emergency. Reports to Finance & Policy Committee.
  • Grounds Maintenance Facility: meets at least bi-monthly (or more as required) to steer the Parks & Open Spaces facility refurbishment project. Reports to Parks & Open Spaces Committee.
  • Play Areas & Accessibility:  meets bi-monthly to review play park accessibility. Reports to Parks & Open Spaces Committee.
  • Wildflowers, Trees & Bulb Planting: meets at least once per year to discuss wildflower development within the Parish. Reports to Parks & Open Spaces Committee.
  • Tadpole: meetings as required. Reports to Parks & Open Spaces Committee.
  • Planning Consultations: meet as required to review planning consultations. Reports to Highways & Planning Committee.
  • Newsletter & Communications: meets at least three times per year to review the Council’s publication of the Haydon Wick Living Magazine. Reports to Community Development Committee.
  • Community Choices: meeting monthly for maximum of four months to review and develop the community participatory budgeting project. Reports to Community Development Committee.
