GRADE / SPINE POINT: SCP Range: 29 – 32 (£32,910 – £35,745) pro rata
CONTRACT DURATION: Permanent
HOURS OF WORK: Between 25 – 30 hours per week to include evening meetings, Monday to Friday inclusive
Main Purpose of Role
To work with the Chief Officer / RFO and Deputy Clerk & Services Manager to support the Council in ensuring that all aspects of the Council’s financial and payroll arrangements are managed in accordance with legislation and statutory requirements.
Finance & Administration Manager/Deputy RFO will be responsible on a day-to-day basis for ensuring that all aspects of the Council’s finances and payroll arrangements are managed and monitored constantly for accuracy, efficiency and clarity and in accordance with all legal requirements.
The postholder will regularly appraise and keep up to date all necessary personnel, but in particular the Chief Officer, Deputy Clerk, Chairman of the Council and Chairman of Finance & Policy Committee, on all aspects of the Council’s financial position and management.
The postholder will be expected to advise the Council on, and assist in the formation of, overall policies to be followed in respect of the Authority’s financial activities and produce all the information required for making effective decisions and to implement constructively all decisions.

Casual Youth Worker
JOB TITLE: Casual Youth Worker
PLACE OF WORK: Haydon Wick Parish Council
GRADE / SPINE POINT: SCP 9 plus 12.01% holiday entitlement (£12.16 per hour)
CONTRACT DURATION: Zero hours – casual. Dependent on funding
HOURS OF WORK: Evening and weekend will be required
Haydon Wick Parish Council is looking for an energetic and highly motivated Youth Worker to work alongside the Officers and supporting Councillors in their efforts to improve the lives of the local young residents by creating a Youth Development Programme within the Parish.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting and delivering key youth development workshops for the Parish Council. The role will include setting up and running arts-based activities, delivering community/environmental projects, delivering outdoor education and sporting activities, and mentoring.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- develop a relationship with young people based on respect and trust, ensuring they have a safe place to develop their identity and place in society
- establish boundaries and support young people in different settings, including outreach work
- mentor, coach and support individuals, encouraging greater social inclusion
This outward-facing role brings with it, responsibilities such as working alongside volunteers; helping to deliver community engagement events and assisting with fundraising for programme delivery.
This role is about young people. You will have good written and verbal communication skills and will be numerate with an eye for detail. You will thrive as part of a small team and be willing to undertake odd jobs. You will need a minimum of 1 year of youth work experience.
It would be desirable to have five GCSEs A-C or equivalent, or Level 2-3 Certificate or a diploma in youth work practice. You will be required to pass background checks from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
