On Saturday 19th February, Haydon Wick Parish Council held an afternoon tea party to thank the wonderful residents of the Parish who have volunteered in, or contributed to, the local community in the past year. The invitation list was exclusive, and included community bus drivers, litter pickers, community event organisers and Memory Café volunteers.

Haydon Wick Parish Council welcomed the opportunity to demonstrate its appreciation of the volunteers time, hard work and dedication that is put into improving the environment and developing community spirit within the Parish.

Councillor Vinay Manro, Chairman of the Council said “We don’t know what we would do without this enthusiastic bunch of community minded individuals. This vintage tea party has been our way of bringing all our wonderful volunteers together and show them how much we appreciate their hard work, commitment and resilience. We are also excited to announce that our annual Haydon Wick Hero nominations are now open, and we are delighted to have second opportunity to applaud our community spirited individuals”.

The Haydon Wick Hero nominations are now open and can made on the Parish Council website https://haydonwick.gov.uk/haydon-wick-heroes. The project is designed to publicly recognise those residents who have contributed to the community in the past year.
