Over 50 people joined us for a truly special evening exploring the hidden lives of bats! We started with Debi from Swindon Story Shed who led a fun bat-themed story time for kids, followed by a brilliant Q&A with Neil Pullen from @wiltswildlife , who answered curious questions and shared incredible facts — from bat diets to their favourite roosting spots.
Then we set off on a gentle walk through Mouldon Hill Country Park, spotting wildflowers like daucus carota (Queen Anne’s Lace – do you know why?!) and lotus corniculatus (Eggs & Bacon – who knew!) whilst keeping our ears pricked for bat calls. As we reached the lake, excitement peaked when we finally spotted bats feeding over the water at dusk!

What a night to remember!
