A huge thank you to Greenmeadow Primary School for welcoming Jackie, our Community Administrator, and Cllr Jacqueline Ireland to speak at assemblies with Years 3, 4 and 5.
The sessions began with some fun true or false quick-fire questions about Haydon Wick, testing pupils’ knowledge of the local area and the services provided by Haydon Wick Parish Council. It was fantastic to see so many hands up and such enthusiasm from the children.
Then came the exciting part!

The children were invited to take part in a competition to design a brand-new mural for the bus shelter outside Greenmeadow Shops on Thames Avenue. We have challenged them to create artwork that celebrates our wonderful local community, natural green spaces and the wildlife that makes Haydon Wick such a special place to live.
We can’t wait to see all of the creative ideas and designs that the children come up with. Their artwork will help transform the bus shelter into something the whole community can be proud of.
Thank you again to Greenmeadow Primary School for hosting us and supporting this exciting community project. We look forward to sharing the children’s designs soon!
