Mental Health Awareness Week Special: Connecting Community, Nature, and Wellbeing

Our community is coming together to make a difference – not just for our environment, but for our mental health and social connections! This litter picking event is more than just a clean-up; it’s an opportunity to boost your wellbeing, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with neighbours.

Event Details

  • Date: Saturday, 17th May
  • Time: 10:00 AM – Start of litter picking
  • Areas Covered:
    • Abbey Meads – Meeting point: Catherine Wayte Primary School (Led by Cllr John Jackson)
    • Haydon Wick – Meeting point: Fox & Hounds Pub Car Park (Led by Cllr Leigh Jackson)
    • Greenmeadow – Meeting Point: Shield & Dagger Pub Car Park (led by Cllr Omkar Munagala
    • Oakhurst – Oakhurst School Parking area (Led by Cllr Rebecca Ross)
    • Haydon End/Taw Hill meeting point: Tawny Owl Pub Car Park (Led by Cllrs Bose Patrick-Okoh and Ayo Jimmy 

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • High-visibility vest, Licker Pickers (if you have one) otherwise these will be provided
  • A friendly smile and open mind! 🌍
